I think it is time to update this

Well track now takes up the majority of my life, so my life has come a bit less exciting. Although I still manage to do ridiculous things. During my college life thus far I have come to realize some very important things:
1. Davis bicycles do NOT stop for pedestrians, so be VERY careful walking in front of them
2. Professors are not persuaded to be nice to you if you are nice to them, sucking up no longer works
3. People can confuse you for a bum when you are dressed in sweats and turning in cans
4. Don't park in faculty parking, you WILL get a ticket, although you can always reuse the ticket to avoid another one
5. Never run on the inside lane of the track, someone is always faster
It's funny how I feel like I've learned more about life then I have actual subject matter.. But my new knowledge I'm sure will be useful..

The Brilliant Things I Do

Well I have done so many brilliant things while I've been living on my own, it's hard to know where to begin. But I think I will start with the first day I got here and I needed to put up my shelf and a towel rack.. After searching my new house I realized that we did not have an electric screw driver, all we had was a hammer. Unfortunately all I had to put up my shelves were screws. But I decided it was no matter, I would simply hammer the screws into the wall. I did receive warning that this was a foolish idea and it would not work. But when I had nailed about a million screws in the wall ( I had to nail a whole bunch because I didn't measure the shelf, I would just guess how far apart and hammer a nail in, so you can see how I went through a lot of screws) I finally had hung all my shelves on the wall and I was so proud of myself and I had a smug smile on my face. And I continued to feel proud of myself until this week my shelves, and everything on them came tumbling down when I accidently slammed the door. Lesson learned, Do Not Hammer Screws Into The Wall

My second brilliant moment came one night when I decided to make a piece of chicken for breakfast. I thought I would be so fancy and heat up the pan and come olive oil before I put the chicken on. But being the brilliant person I am, I left it on a little too long, so when I put the chicken on, oil splattered everywhere, my chicken burnt immediately, and the house smelled like smoke the rest of the night.

For those of your who don't know, I am on the track team here at Davis. We have specific times in which we can work out in the weight room. For example, Mon, Wed, Fri, from 3-4, the track team is allowed to you the student athlete gym. Well when I first got to Davis, I didn't realize there was specified days and time for different teams. SO when I went to go weight lift on a Tuesday, I didn't know why I was the only girl in there, why everyone was looking at me funny, and why they kept chuckling. It wasn't until I noticed all of their shirts read "UC DAVIS FOOTBALL" I realized, maybe I shouldn't be in there. Finally a guy came up and said "unless you are a very very small football player, I think you have the wrong time"

For those of you who wonder how I got into Davis, reading this might clear up that
Question, obviously I got in through sheer brilliance

The Day I Got Lost At School

So just so everyone knows, UC Davis is a very very large campus. As a matter of fact it is something like 6,000 acres about. Well it had been a very long day, and I had been in class since 3 o clock, so when I finally got out of class at 8, I REALLY wanted to get home. I was tired, hungry, cold and so sore from track. I was unfortunately wearing just shorts and a t-shirt and it was very very chilly. So i began to walk in the direction I believed to be where I parked my car.. But after walking for 15 minutes, and ending up near the Mondavi center, which is all the way across campus from where I parked, I realized I had gone the wrong way. So when I realized I was 2 miles away from my car, I thought, I should call my roommates and have one of them to pick me up. Well, that's when I realized, I didn't have my cell phone, or warm clothes, or food, or my wallet. So I walked alone in the dark, through the streets for 30 minutes. So when I finally got to my car, I was so tired, cold, hungry, and happy, that I cried.. what a day

My first Sunday In Davis

Ok, so before I get into the things that happened this week. I thought I would start off by telling the stories that happened to me last week. Lets start with last sunday. The day I got locked in my backyard. I received a rather unpleasant phone call so I went into the backyard to have a private conversation. Well it was about 12:45 and my church started at one.. So as I was having a conversation I heard the sliding glass door shut. I thought little of it. When the conversation was over I realized I really needed to get ready for church, because I was only partially dressed at the time. So I went to enter the sliding glass door, the only way to enter our house from the back, and it was locked. SO, I went to the side gate to get to the front. But, the gate was locked, and I couldn't get to the front door. Just as I was trying to get to the front, I see my roommate get into her car and drive away. I try to yell but she doesn't hear me. So I try to climb over the fence, in a giant dress with a petty coat, but I can not seem to get over. And I see my old asian neighbor sweeping his yard and starting at body that is half way hanging over the fence... But then I remembered one of my windows doesn't have a screen, SO I was able to climb into my room through the window. But now that one problem was solved, I realized I was home alone, and about 10 minutes late for church, and I have no idea where my church is. So I call my roommate, get very very lost, but I eventually make it to church, abd only an hour late. :) And that is the story of my first sunday in Davis
